The answer is clear…
When it comes to the BedJet VS Bedfan, one of them wins unanimously. If you do just a bit of research on them both, you’ll know the winner instantly. You don’t even need to read this BedJet VS Bedfan post…
But for those uninformed and skeptical, this will clear all your doubts and confusion.
Below, you’ll find the BedJet (V2 in particular) go head-on with the Bedfan in multiple categories to see who comes out on top. For clarification, the Bedfan we’re comparing to here is the original one — not the one from Brookstone.
So without wasting any more time, let’s get started…
Let’s first start with the BedJet V2.
This provides both sufficient cooling and heating under the sheets by using gentle convective and evaporative methods. Leaving you with a cool, dry body all night long. Or when heating, a warm out-of-the-dryer feeling that’ll have you cozied up for the winter months.
Plus, with their Turbo Heat setting which can get your bed nice and toasty within minutes, the BedJet is unmatched when it comes to performance.
NOTE: BedJet is not an air conditioner and not a substitute for zero air conditioning in extreme heat (80 degree+) bedrooms. Room temp needs to be below 79 degrees for best cooling.
The Bedfan does one thing and one thing only.
It provides a cool breeze just like the BedJet would. But that’s all you’re limited to. The Bedfan is (obviously) just a fan for your bed. It draws air from its base and fans it under your sheets to cool off your body.
Unfortunately, heating isn’t an option with this one. So if you’re looking to use this when it hits colder seasons, you’re out of luck.

We all look for a quick set up. Good news is, both the BedJet and Bedfan install can be assembled within minutes. Take a look…
Setting up the BedJet is simple. First, plug the unit into an outlet. Then, attach the nozzle onto the hose, and the hose onto the BedJet. Lastly, with the 3-piece assembly holder, put it together and stick it under your mattress. This will keep your hose in place when its powered on.
And that’s it! (Click here to watch full installation video)
Plus, if your bed frame has a 7″ clearance underneath, you can conveniently slide your BedJet underneath to save room. But if not, you can get their vertical mount to securely hold it by your bedside.
The Bedfan installs almost the exact same way. It comes with just 3 pieces — the fan base, tab holders, and what they call the Breeze Bar.
First, plug in the adapter and place the base right by your bed. Then slide the Breeze Bar (which is essentially a hose) on top. Position it to where it’s about one inch above your mattress, and then use a pencil to mark where it’s at on the base.
Next, take your tab holders and stick them right underneath your pencil marking. And then slide the Breeze Bar back on top. Simple! (Click here to watch full installation video)
A remote control makes all the difference. And both the BedJet and Bedfan have one. Although the BedJet is a lot more convenient…
The BedJet has two remotes. A wireless one you can use to control the cooling, heating, and temperature. And their free app that turns your smartphone into a wireless remote (more on this in a bit).
The Bedfan also has a remote control. However, this one’s wired. Luckily, the wire is long enough to reach near the top of your bed so you won’t have to get up. Bedfan’s remote works as a dial from 0%-100%. The higher it goes, the faster it blows.
This is where the Bedfan is at a complete loss. And the BedJet takes over…
The Bedfan has no special features. That’s right. None. Again, it’s simply a fan that blows cool air directly under your sheets. Nothing more, nothing less.
The BedJet on the other hand, is that and much more. After downloading their app (available in both iOS and Android), you can instantly start using their unique Biorhythm Sleep Technology and pre-program custom cooling/heating profiles.
As you can see, it’s just like their physical wireless remote. But on here, their user-friendly interface allows you to access specific temperature readings, settings, air flow, alarms, and saved settings.
As well as their Biorhythm Sleep Technology which lets you adjust the temperature of your bed by the hour, from the second you go to sleep until you wake up. This allows for optimal sleep, by syncing your bed climate with your body’s fluctuating temperature.

Again, the BedJet outshines the Bedfan in this category.
How does the BedJet hold up?
The BedJet is extremely secure. Especially since the unit sits close to the ground, can be placed under the bed, and the hose is secured with a holder. The BedJet is even made with a durable UL-listed flameproof skin for extra safety.
As far as maintenance goes, you’ll be glad to know all you have to do is rinse the air filter about every 3 months.
For the Bedfan, almost no maintenance is required. Maybe just a simple wipe down to keep it clean.
But in regards to its durability, problems can occur. Some have reported the material to be like that of a cheap plastic. While others have said it’s quite strong. This isn’t the big problem though…
Because the Bedfan doesn’t “stick” to your bed like the BedJet does, it can easily be kicked or pushed down. And with its small skinny base, this can happen quite often. The only thing stopping it from tipping over is your bed sheet.
Will your partner feel the BedJet or Bedfan blowing? Do they cool the entire bed or just one section? Let’s find out…
The BedJet cools/heats the entire bed. Now you might be worried that your partner won’t like it (which is generally true). But don’t worry…
BedJet offers both Single Zone and Dual Zone 100% Cotton Air Comforter Sheets. With a Single Zone sheet, the BedJet blows directly inside the comforter so only one person will experience the cooling/heating effects. While your partner won’t feel anything.
But if you want your partner to join the party, you want the Dual Zone system. This comes with one big Air Comforter that’s split into two sections, and two BedJets. This way, your side of the comforter can be cool, while your partner can control their BedJet to be warm.

The Bedfan, however, doesn’t have this option. Although advertised as only cooling down one person (or one side of the bed), it’s hard to believe as true.
It can be true if the Bedfan is at a very low setting. But if it’s blowing pretty hard, the air is going to fill up the entire sheet. Sure you’re partner won’t feel the breeze directly, but it’ll be cooler overall.
The BedJet is one-size-fits-all. With a long, stretchy hose, this is possible.
The Bedfan comes in two sizes.
The Bedfan 1.5-B fits beds from 19″-29″ tall. The Bedfan 1.5A fits beds from 27″-37″ tall.
Now you know it!
When it comes to these two similar machines, the BedJet is clearly the better option. With a safer design, superb cooling AND heating functions, dual zone option, and a built-in advanced sleeping technology to top it all off, the Bedfan just can’t compare.
This doesn’t mean the Bedfan is completely useless though. For a fraction of the price of a BedJet, you can cool your bed. But remember, you CANNOT warm it. So although it’s not completely useless, it will be if you want to use this year-round.
On the other hand, with BedJet’s cooling and heating performance, this will become a staple to your nightly routine.
After setting it up and using the app to pre-program and personalize your own settings, a good night’s rest will be a tap of a finger away.
So if you know which machine you want to get that will suit your every need,
